JAS shareholders greenlight “Monomax” broadcast of “Premier League” and “FA Cup” for 6 seasons

Jasmine International Public Company Limited (JAS) held its Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGM), via electronic meeting, on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Jasmine International Building on Chaengwattana Road. Shareholders approved all agendas proposed by the Board. The key resolution at today's meeting was the acquisition of broadcasting rights for the Premier League and FA Cup in Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia, which were previously obtained from FAPL (Football Association Premier League) for a total value of USD 559,980,000, or THB 19,167,723,414, for a period of 6 seasons, from 2025/26 to 2030/31.
Additionally, the shareholders also approved a related transaction to distribute the EPL and FA Cup through Mono Streaming Company Limited (Monomax). Both resolutions were approved with 3 out of 4 of total voting shares. Independent financial advisors commented that the transaction was appropriate and valuable, noting that it would efficiently enhance the company’s core business with a promising return on investment.
Dr. Soraj Asavaprapha, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Jasmine International Public Company Limited (JAS), commented that “The deal to broadcast the Premier League and FA Cup brings benefits to JAS, especially our internet TV services and content provision business, serving as our flagship initiative and adding value to our business group. Moreover, our partnership with Monomax means that we do not have to invest in setting up streaming platforms and related systems to broadcast the Premier League and FA Cup. This transaction has been carefully considered and is deemed appropriate, ensuring no unfair transfer of benefits.”
