Acumen's cash orbit decays.
Acumen Co., provider of a small satellite service known as V-sat, is looking for an opportunity to shore up flat revenue.
Somsak Padhana-anek, the managing director, said yesterday revenue has been flat for years, due to a drop in demand and tough competition from terestrial high-speed data networks.
He said the trend would see revenue decline by 20 percent annually in the near future.
Last year the 14-year-old subsidiary of Jasmine International Plc reported Bt1.8 billion in revenue, with some profit, Somsak said.
Two years ago Acumen recorded almost the same figure in revenue with around Bt272 million profit.
The main pressure on Acumen is that its concession from TOT Corp Plc to provide and operate a satellite-based rural public phone service expires in satellite service accounts for 70 per cent of the company's revenue.
"We'll lose a huge part of our revenue," said Somsak.
