To provide service to 1.5 million fixed-line telephone customers in 72 provinces outside Bangkok, the Telephone Organization of Thailand (presently known as TOT  Public Co.,Ltd.) awarded TT&T Public Co., Ltd. a 25-year concession.

The company spent about 50 billion baht installing the entire system, completing it in September 1996. It is now responsible for the operation and maintenance of the vast network, so more than 20
 
 
operation and maintenance centres operate across the country to ensure the needs of all customers are responded to rapidly and efficiently. As new technological developments are made, customer services are swiftly updated. This modern network is a key part of the effort to make the firm part of the largest Internet provider in the country.
